Our History
Line Break Rugby Academy was founded in 2024 by Roelof Smit, a former professional rugby player in South Africa, with over 14 years of experience competing at the highest levels of the sport.Currently playing for the Miami Sharks, Roelof Smit represented esteemed teams such as the Vodacom Blue Bulls, Emirates Lions, Toyota Cheetahs, and the national team, the Springboks. With a passion for rugby and a desire to share his expertise with the next generation of athletes, Roelof Smit established Line Break Rugby Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the aim of promoting and developing the sport in the United States. With a focus on technical skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning, Line Break Rugby Academy has quickly become a premier destination for aspiring rugby players seeking to reach their full potential under the guidance of elite-level coaching and mentorship.
